Thursday performance MUST COMMENT

  1. I have made the sound quieter and we have decided that the gun shot would be better if Spencer did it

  2. I think we should really work on the Tipperary scene because I think it is such an important part of the play and we can do so much better with it. I think the work we have done is finally starting to pay off and I am so proud of what we have done!

  3. Overall we just need more people noises and bigger reactions vocally. But I think we are doing great and it’s hard to see how far the play has come, but I just want everyone to know that you are doing amazing and to keep improving with every rehearsal

  4. here are my notes on the performance

kaitlyn don’t move hands when singing, it’s distracting, stick with head nods

kaitlyn does good at not looking frozen during first scene

    bomb scene was better today

we took the shhhh out so that y’all could be more vocal with “at war” choose a word, or a noise, BE LOUDER

jonathan did we scratch the cricket bat thing to tag y’all’s scene??

ash step on lines when going into “little watch” scene

everyone pretty please go through and relook and reread all of your lines. we have gotten into habits and so in tune with our characters (which is good) but we’ve taken out lines and added words here and there aren’t apart of the script

eli and kadyn did y’all kiss?

music is pretty loud in gently goodbye scene so actors need to be louder

alee good putting the chair down, do you think you could put the table down too?

if lights are wrong, find the light!!!

could we put blood on kate?

jonathan the only reason your lines sound fake is because of how choppy you are

ash with the freeze or the dayyy

if there’s music you have got to be louder!!

reagan come in with your monologue a little sooner if you can idk maybe that’s just me

viv scene, yessss!! reece anyway you could be a tiny more like evan? not as creepy but like touchy wise

kadyn during viv scene is there anyway you can be frozen? it seems weird that you’re not frozen but the bar scene is

colin when you put the doll up to your ear after “she talks to me” whisper back to her or laugh, be creepy

    gunshot???? ahhh

eli stay in character when you get up from dying

reece this was the best you’ve done on dead scene

alee move the crate with purpose and style

judith and joan scene was good!!

everyone be more like cooper!! she has like 2 lines in the little kid scene, but she’s there. she’s listening and making people noises and talking under her breath, just like real people do

alee when you say i’ll make some tea don’t gesture stage right since y’all exit stage left

eli couldn’t hear shut it off today

where are cardigans in second factory scene?!?!

second factory scene was better, in my opinion

everyone be louder or the music needs to be quieter because i missed every line leading up to “get out of my sky”

    gun shots sucked todayyyyy

39:58!! i think stage managers need headbands or hats

be in character back stage! we see you get in character as you walk on, and we shouldn’t have to see that.

  5. I think this was a great performance, however we still had a few mistakes. I think the music was a little loud, but I know Riley is doing his very best to keep us on track and we all need to thank him for that. We just need to focus on each character and build them up through out the play. I believe we are gonna do amazing on Thursday if we keep up the good work!

  6. This was a great performance but the music was a little loud. Riley did great with the timing though! Everyone seemed to be in character the whole time and was giving 110%.

  7. My sound is set and ready to go. The train is changed. And the gunshot is good. My timing is great and I have it where I can get easily

  8. This performance was pretty good. Music was a little loud but I know Riley is trying his best to get it perfect. Everyone seemed to be in character almost all the time. We still need to keep in mind that we need to be building them as the play progresses. Y’all are all doing so good! Keep up the good work!

  10. i thought this performance was definitely one of the better ones. there were a few things that could've gone a little smoother. some of the things i noticed were that people are taking out lines that are written in the script and adding in new ones when they shouldn't. everyone please take the time to look over the script and make sure you know your correct lines. another thing is that the gunshot is not timed correctly. i think with a little more practice we could get it down. one last thing is that i can still see people walking on stage then getting into character. i know this is something we've addressed before so please try your hardest to stay in character backstage. this performance was great and we're only getting better with time!

  12. A small problem that I have noticed (and I'm guilty of it terribly) is stomping on the gray set. We need to watch the level of noise it makes and limit it, especially if one of our bi-district judges will nail us for it. Also, we need to work on being quieter when taking down the bar scene because our judge at district found it distracting from Kaden's monologue (which she does very well and she deserves to be heard.) I know this is all technicality but simple revisions such as this add so much more to our show.

  13. I think that the sound needs a little bit of work being that the sound overcast much of the scenes. Accents and consonants are what we are struggling on most. Saying this we need to work on the hardest words. Evan still needs a little more Australian in his accent. During practice we need to be quiet and respect all of the scenes.

  14. One of the things I need to work on is looking and sounding less rehearsed. In this video I got the feeling that I was looking rehearsed.

  15. PEOPLE NOISES!!! This is what makes it real for the audience... you need to be bigger until we tell you not to be (which most likely won't happen)!

  16. I agree with carly and the use of people noises! I know it’s easy to forget but it will set apart from other plays if we have them. Lines need to be worked on as well. Overall it was very well done!

  17. Like Maky said we all need to be in character on and off stage I’m terrible at that I know, but take Cooper for example if you ever see her backstage she is ALWAYS in character! And we should all try and be like that!

  18. i know this has been mentioned multiple times but this performance needs people noises!!! it looks kind of rehearsed... what we need, again, is to just be spontaneous. we need to make sure it doesn’t drag and do everything as the first time

  19. I’ve noticed that there are a lot of loud noises which are good when people aren’t talking but I’ve found that a lot of y’all have to talk a lot louder than you should have to do I think we should watch the noise lever for sure its very important that the judges can hear us

  20. I thought it looked unnatural in mine and Mira’s scene. I felt like I was searching for things to do, and I think having the toy plane would help a lot

  21. My whistle was dying towards the end. I think I just need to keep practicing until it flows naturally. Cause my character would be very good at blowing it

  22. Keep the energy flowing thank ought the whole performance so we don’t ever get boring or confusing moments. Every scene needs its own pace so that we keep the audience engaged and bring them in with our energy. At the end of the day we are still trying to get a message across to the audience
